replaced lcd in dell laptop broken again?

Specs: Windows 7
i have just replaced my cracked lcd screen on my laptop with one i ordered on by entering the model number off the back of the old screen to ensure the compatability,

but now my display doesnt show the boot loader when turning on or the starting windows screen just appears on the log in.. and it isnt in the right aspect ratio it is the normal (non-widscreen) ratio with a thin black line to the right and then starts to repeat the left hand side of the desktop again to fill the space!?!?

it displays the boot loader and starting windows screen via vga cable to my tv, and the aspect ratio is fine there....

also if i print screen and paste into paint it pastes the normal desktop not the (normal+repeated) view i see..... HELLLPPPP

you may have set the vga as the startup display, go into the bios and ghange it to the main display, then set the aspect ratio as needed.
type display in the run box and set your monitors from there too once the machine has booted.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
