replaced hard drive, original failed

Specs: Windows 7
windows will not install onto my laptop using recovery disks , I received from Sony, everything once the last dics loads and Im instructed to remove the recovery dics. I get a compatablility error,and to install windows again.

why do u want to install windows from a recovery disk? did some problem recently happen that forced u to do that? any error? any problem? do u have any other operating systems running?

replaced hard drive dics, and wanted same programming installed so the peripherals would work, that came with this Sony Vaio Laptop.

if the hard disks were replaced in ur laptop then u need a windows 7 cd to install the OS. recovery disks are only used when repairing windows from errors and faulty installations

The recovery disc should work on a new drive. Have you used the disks before on the orignal drive? Maybe there was a problem when they were made.
