Specs: Windows 7
I recently had my computer crash really bad. I had my comp fixed about a month ago and the guy took off my anti virus and I didn't know. Anyways was able to get an anti virus downloaded, get rid of the virus and fix the computer. However, I cannot use skype or my webcam, when I go to open webcam it opens up, the light flashes on for a second and then nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

You never know the state of the OS after this stuff. Everyone hates me when i say this but you should restore with OEM media. Return it to it's as bought state. Then apply a good security suite, apply patches, use best practices to avoid this in the future. Simple things like running at all times as a limited or standard user helps prevent this stuff.

Fix it once, fix it right.

jane4, sorta a shot in the dark here. I'm thinking that your AV thought your cam driver was a nasty and cleaned it. Visit the manufacturers site and re-download the latest driver. THEN list the driver's filename in your AV's exceptions list (most have one) so it doesn't happen again.
