I removed a program. The program started when the computer boots up. It is no longer listed in programs but it shows in config.sys under the startup tab. How do I remove it from there

If you removed it from the control panel, it shouldn't be there. You can edit the config.sys file in notepad & uncheck it in msconfig, startup.

If that doesn't satisfy you, search for it in the registry & delete it from there.

Never easy to get rid of some programs.

Is the program name a secret?

The name of the program is Theocratic Reserach Utilites. I could not find it in the register. I opened msconfig. I pointed to the program and under location the full path was displayed "c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\StartMenu\programs\startup"

It showed a shortcut for the program. I deleted the shortcut. Rebooted and now the program doesn't appear in the MS config startup. Thanks for your help.

Yes, they sometimes start from there, although not very often.
Good news and thanks for popping back to let us know.
