Hi there,

If anyone could help me with this, I'd be eternally grateful!

I'm trying to "clean" (remove all data and info from) my FLV files that I have downloaded.

For example: Say I download a video called "cat jump fail" from a website FunnyVideos. I rename it to "Cat Fails at Jumping". However, when I play it, it still says "cat jump fail" in the TITLE info, and "FunnyVideos" in the SOURCE, and perhaps data in the CATEGORY, GENRE, etc. fields too.

I just want to delete all this! (The same way you can clean all the file info from JPEG files, for example.)

I try to right-click the file > properies > details > remove properties and personal information ... but this doesn't do anything!

When I go into CLIP INFO on RealPlayer and try to delete it manually, it just re-appears the next time I play the FLV file. It simply will not go! I just want to delete everything and have a clean, empty video file!

Any advice or programs which might help me do this?

Thank you in advance!

Marko

Lets try it with this scenario, (Cat_Jump_Fail.flv) try renaming it to something like this (Jumping_Cat_Fail.avi) I know this changes the format of the video but once you rename it yet again to (Fail_Cat_Jump.flv) it should keep the changes.
Make sure you keep an original copy of this file because doing this has been known to corrupt the file. This is the only way I know of to fix something like that. However, if you want to convert it to another format and then convert it back to FLV with a new name and credentials, you can use a program called DVDVIDEOSOFT. It is freeware if memory serves and the website to get the program is http://dvdvideosoft.com/

The only part of the .flv file you can change is the file name. The recorded title is constant. Your question is not clear for example you say I just want to delete all this! (The same way you can clean all the file info from JPEG files, for example.). It is not clear how you can do this without destroying the file!

And you say I just want to delete everything and have a clean, empty video file! it is not clear what you mean by this. Essentially the creator of the movie embeds information which is part of the movie and this cannot be changed.

You may get more informed help here: http://forum.videohelp.com/ but be mor precise with you post.
