So far as I know, if just re-installing to where it was before, then no need for a new license key.

If changing hardware etc.. again I don't think so. You would simply enter the key you already have. If you had to provide proof that you have a valid license, likely you would refer to whatever email address you provided when you registered the software?

Possibly others here will different experiences and observations...

Assuming you refer to your Windows licence key, not your AV:

1. No

2. No (Use your existing key. Phone Microsoft if Windows complains)

3. No (Or see, 2)

As far as I know all are not hardware specific and should reactivate with the same key as long as only one machine at one time. Microsoft, Adobe, possibly AutoCad, and probably a few other expensive programs are hardware specific, your antivirus program should not be, especially since the pay for ones are renewable each year and the rest are free.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Nope, not activation key but in some instances due to the changes you might have to uninstall and re-install to get them to work again. However before we can give anything but a generalised answer we need to know what AV you are referring to and whether it is a free or paid-for package.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
