Reinstalled windows 7 did not cure IE9 freezing problem

February 24, 2013 at 02:11:32
Specs: Windows 7
Internet Explorer 9 in Windows 7 freezes & a message comes up saying " is not responding ". It has only started the last few days & I can sometimes get onto a website but mostly I cannot. I have reinstalled Windows 7 & formatted my C drive but I still get the same message. I have tried several solutions that I found on various forums but none have solved the problem. The last one I tried was : Tools>Internet Options> Advanced Tab > Tick "Empty Temp Internet Files Folder When browser Is closed " > Hit OK. Needless to say it worked for a couple of times I switched off the PC then this morning I started it up & the same problem was there. Could anyone please help me out with this. Thanks Mac

Did you try IE Reset?:
Tools > Internet Explorer > Advanced > Reset button.

You lose customizations and addons but as it is a new install this shouldn't matter too much. The addons come back in time.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Download and run the cleaner module in Ccleaner Slim from the link below. If you can't get online with the problem computer then use another one and transfer by flash drive or other.

Get Ccleaner Slim from the link below.

I would also use CCleaner's Tools/Startup/IE tab to disable a lot of IE addons.

But if you think IE9 is bad, don't try IE10 on Win7. It is barely workable at all. Seriously give thought to using an alternative browser, any of which is better. Opera is my fave.
