Reinstall windows on a laptop with no monitor

Specs: Windows 7, 4gb DDR3 ram; 2.2 core two duo
I am currently using a laptop where the screen is cracked and I am forced to use an external LCD via the VGA port on the laptop itself. When powering on the machine I get the first visual when the windows desktop begins to load; ie. I dont get he Windows 7 logo with the scrolling load screen or any BIOS but rather a desktop background while the desktop icons load. I was wondering how I would reload windows via a CD or automatic restore, with out haveing visual feedback. I was thinking of partitioning and then installing and then deleting the current partition but I am not sure. I do not was to screw this up as then I will just have a paperweight. Thanks in advance!
