reinstall windows 7 upgrade

Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade, Phenom x3 8450e
Can i reinstall W7 Home Premium Upgrade, set up RAID, and reformat the HD without reverting to my old Vista OS? If so how do i go about this? I already have everything b/u on external. thanks!
ASRock A770de+, 4 gb OCZ ddr2 800, Phenom x3 8450e, WD 500 gb HD, 450 GTS. Not currently running RAID but i have another HD installed.

Maybe.

There are a number of suspected rules. The most easy is to have an activated install that the new install can see. For example an activated Vista to W7 upgrade is easy.

Then it gets hard from there and at some point you may need to somehow save your vista install to later prove upgrade. Any major change to the way it is and was can create issues.

Personally, I might be tempted to do a clone of the vista to some small partition and keep it there. Even if it is on some old ide drive just for install times. I do that with my W7 upgrade. Then it never asks me. Then install or re-install what you want.
