Specs: Windows 7
I have a lot of zip discs and no way to access the information on them that are backups. Don't have a zip drive and would like to buy one that is compatable with a laptop with windows 7 operating system. Do they exist???

I have used an external zip drive on a windows 7 machine and it did not ask for any driver.
I built for my father-in-law 2 new W7 machines for his office and switched him over to external hard drives that were small and just as portable as the zip disks. Even though I backed up everything to the external hard drives, I later found out that his archive files were still on older zip disks that he needed to access for a file and I was there, so we tried. I just plugged in his old external Zip drive and windows 7 just installed it as an external removable drive without a problem, accessed in less than a minute.
I do not see any new drives on New Egg, but try to get one of the later models if you can, though his were probably 8 or 9 years old and they worked.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
