I have an ASUS K60 series laptop. I;ve had it less than a year, and 2 days ago, a red horizontal line appeared in the screen, It is very prominent in a black background. I called tech support to ask for help, and the instructions given did not make any difference. Is this a common issue, and what can I do to get rid of the red line>

You can try downloading and updating your video driver. If this does not work, and your laptop is still under warranty, make them replace the laptop or at least the monitor or video circuit if necessary to fix it. Do not let them get a way with it.... You do not want your warranty to run our first, then you will have to pay the repair cost yourself. Before you bring it back, back up all of your personal files.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Just an update on my issue. I called again only to have my system totally revolted. Aftervthat call, I made another call to their support number and they agreed to take the system back and repair it. I sent it off today. From your advice, all the driver dowloads were not going to make any difference because the monitor probably needs to be replaced. Thanks for the great advise. I took it and ran!!!
