Specs: Windows 7, 3gb
On both of my Lenovo G530s, running Windows 7, the cursor will occasionally re-position in a random manner both up and down when entering text in either email or Word.

Optic mouses can do this. Maybe A4Tech mostly ;)
You can try some ways to fix:
Install your mouse's original driver.
Or in mouse options, remove "Increase sensitivity" click.
Use your mouse in slippery ground.
Use your mouse with usb connection if it have.
Clear mouse's optic reader.

The symptoms are what I see when someone is typing on the keyboard and accidentally hits the touchpad with part of their hand. Most users are not aware they are touching the pad while typing. I watched many people who complained of this while typing and found their fingers, palms and side of the hand grazing the pad enough to trigger new mouse locations on the screen. The worst were ones that triggered highlights of sections of text and accidentally erasing it.

What I have them try is to disable the touchpad while typing. Most laptops have a FN and function key combination to disable it. If this system has no key option try placing some cardboard or anything to keep your hands from touching the pad area.

Please try and see if this helps you.
