Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, 3 GHz / 1919 MB
Is there any way to change the action of a key on the keyboard in W7 without a third party program?
I would like the PAUSE KEY start a program.

The only way is to hack the registry under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout

Googling will give you lots of information....

Not the best choice of a key to reprogram. You may need the pause key in the future. How about one of the unused F keys of a combination of two keys.

I'm not the right person to answer that question but I THINK you can do that without hacking the registry.

I suggest you ask in the programming forum.
