Problems with IM program NAVER LINE

March 18, 2015 at 01:33:19
Specs: Windows 7, 4 gb
I am not sure that this belongs in this section but as I am running Win 7 it seems appropriate.
I have the IM program LINE for Naver Line ( which is originally for Android but there is a version
for PC ) and the problem is that files that I send or receive will not come or go through. Nor can I make calls. Text messages do however come and go through ok. On their webpage, Naver Line as far as support goes, only have a basic faq page and it is impossible to email them.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing but the problem remains the same. I am not sure how many
use the program if any but any suggestions on how to resolve the problem would be most
appreciated.

I cant help thinking that maybe some registry entry is the cause of the problem but it not really possible to go through almost 2000 registry entries that have the word "line"
included. Having said that there are 0 entries that have "naver line" included.

I did find one page 3 days ago - https://contact.line.me/en/ - but no one has replied yet
and they do not promise replies anyway.

Just found more info in the Softpedia comments.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Mobile...

"What they don't explain anywhere, is that you MUST have already registered with a mobile device prior to using the desktop version. If you don't own a cell phone (I don't), then you will not be able to log onto LINE just using your desktop pc. Very poorly implemented in my opinion. This needs fixing."

I am already registered with my cell phone actually long before I used the desktop version. If i was not registered , as you say, I would not be able to log in and use LINE. I have another idea though - I will install LINE on my laptop and see if I still have the problem - if not then maybe something is not right on my desktop although it did work a few months ago on the desktop.

Good thinking.

How is the printer going?
You had a problem last year.

The printer is ok now thanks.....however I did install LINE on my laptop and the exact same problem there too.....so the problem lies with LINE and not on my desktop....maybe it is something with my LINE account or, as everything runs through them, something at
their end. Maybe I need to delete the account and start again from scratch....I can only try as it looks like there is no response coming from their support.

You didn't download the Windows 8 version did you?

I downloaded the version for windows not windows 8. I also deleted my account and signed up from scratch...but the problem still persists both on the desktop and on the laptop. Having said that it is working ok on my cell phone. It is hard to believe that the
problem is at my end both on the laptop and desktop and I am sure it is somewhere at their end.

Is this the only problem you are having, or are other funny/unusual things happening?

I feel it would be the same on any laptop or desktop hence the conclusion that it must stem from them ( Line ) .

At this point, until you hear from them, that's the logical conclusion.
