Problems with detecting video card(Windows 7)

Specs: Windows 7, 8
Problems with detecting video card.

I installed Windows 7 Home Premium and it is working normally but the two software which we use, are not detecting my video card. Slim Drivers and Driver Booster. Rather than display the driver of my ATI Radeon HD 7870, standard vga graphics adapter appears. I installed the driver and I can run my games on the same quality as before. But the screen does not fit the monitor, either playing or is using windows.

What could have happened?

Download your driver here:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
and install it to get full function.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

First I would get rid of Slim Drivers and Driver Booster. Get rid of them, they are useless and at best snake oil.

Once you have got rid of them, reinstall the correct drivers and all should be well.

Software like Slim Drivers and Driver Booster that claim to keep your drivers up to date are a complete waste of space..

And to add to Stuart's comment, not only are those types of programs a waste of space, but many contain spyware/malware. I can't speak specifically about those 2 programs because I've never used them, nor would I ever use them. Whatever made you install them in the 1st place? Is keeping your drivers up to date such a chore that you have to rely on questionable software to do it for you? I highly recommend you uninstall them, them run a full scan for viruses & malware from safe mode.

Thannk you very much for the help. I will not gonna use slim drivers again. I used a newer Windows 7 Ultimate dvd and worked. The pc finally recognized my graphics card.

riider what you think about advanced system care? its good? its a little offtopic question but you made me curious. you must be a expert on pc software.

to tell you the truth i used slim drivers for a long time and never giver me any problem. you think avast is bad too?

The companies that wan to charge you money for system care shroud be avoided as well. They do nothing that you nant do for yourself with a little knowledge. You don't need to be an expert, just have the ability to use Google and to read.

Avast has nothing to to with drivers, it is an Anti virus application and one of the better ones.
