Problems to startup a PC HP Pavilion HPE

October 4, 2012 at 18:02:38
Specs: Windows 7 Home Prem, intel core i7
I just bought this h8-1240t desktop, Windows 7 a couple days ago. I followed the instructions step by step to set it up, with no luck to make it start.
The PC starts, and the light on the front starts; however then, it dims the light on the on/off button of the monitor and nothing shows up on the screen. The keyboard and the mouse are hooked up correctly, but there is no sign that they are working.
Could anyone, please help me?

you might as well just return it and request an exchange if it is possible, it sounds like the one you bought might be defective.

You've been helped by a 14 year old.

Your configuration of that model MAY include an add in graphics card in addition to the integrated graphics. If that is the case, you may be connecting the monitor to the wrong graphics port.

See if there is another place to connect the monitor. It will be located below the integrated graphics port.
