Solved Problem with IE 10

May 17, 2013 at 22:16:04
Specs: Windows 7
When using IE 10 I have been getting the following error message Data of this type not supported. Is there anything I can do about this? I tried to uninstall IE 10 but have not been able for some reason. Had no problem with IE 9 running these programs. Has anyone else had this issue?

I have indeed had a problem with IE10, in my case it would not work at all so I uninstalled it and reverted to IE9 -- problem solved.

You say you have been unable to uninstall IE10 but have not said what the problem was when trying to uninstall it. I'll assume you need some guidance on how to do it:

Control Panel > Programs & Features.
Click "View installed updates" in the left panel.
In the list, find "Windows Internet Explorer 10".
Right-click it, then left-click "Uninstall".

Did this and nothing happened to let me know that it is being unistalled. Any reason why I keep getting the message Data of this type in not supported. I ran antivirus scan and nothing showed up. Also used a fix it for IE 10 and got the same message.

"Did this and nothing happened to let me know that it is being unistalled"

Then it appears there may be something wrong with your Windows installation, not just IE10. You may want to consider backing up your data and performing a Factory Restore.
