Printing a scanned document

Specs: Windows 7
Having scanned a document using Windows Fax and Scan I select the print option and I get "Print your Pictures" Since I want to print as a pdf document this is a problem because it only prints in landscape format. How do I print a normal pdf document in portrait format?

...and your point is? I have scanned the document, selected print option, selected Adobe pdf. and selected print. I get a perfect pdf.document which I can email etc but it is on it's side.

Since you get this message I select the print option and I get "Print your Pictures" princecorum is correct when he says your scan is a picture not a document. Was the item you scanned a document in the frst instance? Your Scanner and/or Printer options should give the opportunity to change the format.

Thanks for your reply. I opened "Windows Fax and Scan" selected "New Scan" checked option for "Document" and "Black and White".
I scanned the document and then selected "Print" I get the same response, it opens the option to "Print your Pictures" for printer option I select "Adobe PDF" it produces a PDF document but it is horizonal.
When I want to print a scanned document how can I get Fax and Scan to open a different printing programme say Adobe Photoshop Elements?

Adobe Photoshop Elements is a graphics programme and is not able to handle text except if the document has been scanned as a picture in which case the picture cannot be edited.

What scanner are you using? I would can the document using the scanner facilities (not Windows Scan and Fax) and then fax it in the normal way.

You have not mentioned whether you checked the "Options"to change the print setup.

Thanks a lot - that was helpful. I have found a way to use the scanner via Photoshop (I don't want to edit the document) instead of Fax and Scan. I can now print from Photoshop using Adobe PDF and get my image the right way up!
Thanks again for your help.
