Printed labels are placed too high and get cut off

May 16, 2012 at 10:54:58
Specs: Windows 7
When I print labels, they are placed too high on the labels and printing get's cut off if not on the first one then on some farther down the sheet. If I adjust top margin on the sheet they all are screwed up then. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

More info required:

What make/type/code number are the label sheets you bought? (eg Avery etc).
What application are you using to compose and print them? (eg Microsft Word etc).

I don't have much experience printing on precut labels, but it
sounds like the label sheet is slipping in the printer. You could
print on plain paper and measure the positions of the printing
to determine whether they are where they should be to print
correctly on the label sheet.

It would be a good idea to tell us what printer you are using and whether you are using the correct labels for the style you are printing. Your manual will give you full details... do you have one?

When printing labels from forms you need to calibrate the software to get the printing in the correct location. Avery labels and their software can do that for you. I would assume that the brand of labels you are using will do the same. The Software should be available at the makers site.
