Print Screen does not work on Toshiba laptops: design fault

January 8, 2013 at 09:20:39
Specs: Windows 7
No matter what key or combination (F1....F12; shift, ctrl, alt )you press on a Toshiba laptop PRINT SCREEN DOESN'T WORK. Its a fault of all Toshiba laptops; not even the dumbass Japanese at Toshiba can answer why they arranged the keys like that in the first place, ie, the prtsc key under the END key. Kamakazi mentality.

Laptop keyboards are slightly different to external keyboards in that respect.
External keyboards have a dedicated "Print Screen" key.

On a laptop keyboard, the Print Screen function is shared with another function (shared with "End" function on my Toshiba Satellite).

This means you have to press the "Print Screen" key in combination with the "Fn" key.
I just tried it and it works fine.

The letters "PRTSC" (for Print Screen) are printed in grey on my keyboard, same colour as the "Fn" key. The reason for that is glaringly obvious (to me anyway).

This arrangement is by no means unique to Toshiba laptops so your derisory comments about Toshiba have no basis in fact.

Now calm down and remember this is a friendly forum

Additionally, what are you expecting to happen when you hit "print screen"?

Fn + whatever key has PRTSC on it. On mine it's the end button. This copies the screen to the clipboard, then you have to paste it into paint or another photo editor.

Alternatively you can find snipping tool in accessories in the start menu I think.
