Pressed Latitude ON button but dont have it

March 12, 2011 at 07:21:50
Specs: Windows 7
I pressed the Latitude ON button accidentally on my new Dell Latitude e4610 but I don't actually have those capabilities on my computer so the system went black an basically turned off. Now when I press the same button the system sounds like its starting, the keyboard will light up then it turns off. I get the same result for the regular power button too. Things like F8 don't do anything and the screen never lights up.

Your post does not make too much sense at all.
'I pressed the Latitude ON button accidentally on my new Dell Latitude e4610'
Are you refering to the wireless button or what?
Have you checked to see if there is a disk in the drive?
Have you held the power button in untill the PC shuts right down?
Have you tapped f8 and tried safe mode yet?

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

press the power button for about 10 secs, then try to restart, or try taking off the mains power and pull the battery, then plug in the mains with the battery out, and reboot. put back the battery later
