I think you should look in Control Panel > Programs and Features and if you see "MSI Suite" uninstall it.

Are you quite sure itilbit is exactly what it says in msconfig > Startup?

Although the symptoms appear to be cured it would be better if we can clear out the offending junk.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Type msconfig in the Run box and see if you can see an entry for it there. If so uncheck that entry.

You could also run the free version of this uninstaller to get rid of any remnants:

Sorry I should have said look for the entry in msconfig Start-up.

It might not be too obvious which entry it is. You can temporarily uncheck anything except Microsoft stuff.

I assume Revo found no entries for it.

Here's a long shot to try:
Turn off computer and unplug power. Remove main battery too if it's a laptop. Before reconnecting the power cable hold the Power Off/On button for at least 20 seconds then tap it a few times. That will discharge the motherboard components which have been known at odd times to retain information.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

How long have you been running Trend Micro? It seems to me, it must have been recently installed. Personally, I'm not a fan. It's a resource hog like Norton/Symantec & McAfee. Did you do a search? See the following:
