Plugged in but Losing Power

Specs: Windows 7
it says only 6% power and it is always plugged in ,but i am looking for a battery for E-MACHINE -CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME WHAT TO DO ( AND THE FONTS CHANGE TO BIG IN A HEARTBEAT WHEN I HAVE CHOSEN SMALLER ! Do i need this battery -i have never had one for this machine but it was always plugged in and , it has always remained powered fully until today.

What model of E-Machine is this please?

Does the caps light on your keyboard come on when it starts using caps on its own?

And are you using a wireless keyboard?

Also, are you plugged into a surge suppressor and is it plugged into a good wall socket?

If you have the power plugged into the laptop and its not charging, one of two things is wrong:

- The power adapter or part of the adapter itself is bad.
- The contacts in the power entry point on the laptop are not correct.

I would first try with a different power adapter that has similar power regulations on it as the one you're using.
