If it will not boot into Safe Mode, try to boot into BIOS set up. If you get there, look at the temperatures. If they are high, you may have a heat issue and you would need to clean out the dust from the laptop using a can of compressed air and make sure that your fan is running. Let it run in BIOS set up for quite a while to see if it crashes there as well. If it crashes and it is hot, the problem is probably heat. If it crashed but it is not hot, then it is definitely hardware related.
To test your hardware you will need to prepare two bootable CD's. If it crashes immediately, this probably will not even tell you very much, but if it runs long enough, it might tell you something. You will need a CD with Memtest on it and one with the hard drive test utility from your hard drive's mfg, or Seatools from Seagate (DOS version). I prefer to test the memory first since a bad memory segment can make artificial hard drive errors apparent. Run the short version of the hard drive test first and if it is clear, attempt the long version (possibly hours).

You are running an illegal copy of Windows 7 so you are not allowing it to register. So not updates then?

I think you should BUY a legal copy of Windows.

To add, that if this not a genuine copy of Windows then really about anything could go wrong or happen. It could be a corrupt version or even have hidden viruses. Also things have moved on with service packs and updates, so that could come into the equation too.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Googled this in 5 seconds:

Create a bootable CD with Memtest86 on it:

Then boot to the CD and let the tests all run. No errors are acceptable.
