Specs: windows 7
Need to redirect boot setup utility to start with cd setup to read my recovery discs for windows 7. I have 7 options and 2 are for cd access. #2: CD/DVD: TSST Corp. CDDVDW; or option 7: USB CD/DVD ROM.

the computer is wishy washy is giving me options for adv boot repait or launch start up repair. Once (out of 10 times) i did get the windows repair screen with the 5 options shown online. I went with option 1. It ran for 4 hrs but was not able to repair the system. I'm wanting to use my recovery discs made for back up.

So you're not able to boot from your recovery disks even though the drive they're in is set as the first boot device? Are you sure the disks are bootable and both the disk and drive are in good condition?

Or are you having a problem changing the boot order? This recent thread goes on and on about boot priority with that bios. You may want to have a look:

My question is which option do I choose? Option 2 or option 7? The utility set up is warning me I can make things worse? Will it work for either option okay?
I guessed option 2. You have to move the option to the top of the list w/F6 then exit and save change. At least the system is communicating although I am not sure its reading the recovery disc yet. If optipn 2 dn work I'll try option 7 next. Thanks

I don't think you can 'make things worse' by changing the boot order. You can always change it back. Usually the manual for your computer model will help with making changes in bios setup.
