I have windows 7 on my PC.When I switch it on though I can hear sounds nothing comes on screen. Its black, though I can type my password. It means windows are already loaded. Now if I restart it screen comes live by showing the message that windows were not properly shut and then I can easily open it.I tried loading windows again, got the SMPS changed but problem remains.
I suggest you should 1--- check RAM with this program.
2--- Reseat gfx card and its power cable connector, if it uses one.
3--- Use UPS, if you do not have one already.
4--- If you use on-board NIC, disable it in BIOS and try again. In some cases, NIC and video card IRQs conflict causing no video on the monitor.
If you shut down the PC forcefully using the button on the case, you get the "Windows was not properly shut down" message when you restart. Instead you should use reset button on the case if there is one.CoolGuy
