Did you attempt an over the top install or a clean install with format?

Are you using a legal copy of Windows 7?

That is not legal. One computer per copy.

The reason why the computer is not booting is probably because your computer is not capable of running Windows 7. Download the adviser from the link below to verify.

you probably need to install drivers for the sata or chip set, which you should have on the machine driver cd, or you can get from the website, unfortunately you have probably formatted the hidden partition that contained the original OS with all the drivers..

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

Windows 7 has SATA drivers included. That is not the problem.

"...it shows Virtualization technology not supported..."

This does not have anything to do with your Win 7 installation and its black screen problem. Virtualization technology chimes in only when you want to install Microsoft XP mode for Win 7 Pro or Ultimate or Enterprize.

By the way, over-the-top installation is not supported for Win XP machines. You have to do a clean installation.

And you say you did both. Why not give yourself a fresh start for clean installation. During Win7 install, do a format of the hard drive first.
