P01-A3 Packard Bell ixtreme M5120 boot

Specs: Windows 7 64 bit, AMD Phenom II x4
When booting, I can't access the Boot menu, nor the Setup menu. Windows has great difficulties in starting up all the way, it hangs 90 % of the time. I'd like to use the system disk to repair/reinstall, but need to define boot from disk.

Do you know the procedure for accessing the Setup and Boot options?

If you do, then maybe you are using a wireless keyboard?
Some systems can't detect any key-presses during the boot process if the keyboard is a wireless one (or even if it's a wired USB one in some cases).

If that's the problem, the solution is to use a wired keyboard, preferrably one with a PS/2 connector if your PC has a PS/2 keyboard port, but if not, a wired USB one should work.

Thanks for your reply. The displays says to push del for Setup and F12 for Boot menu. Pushing them now does nothing.

The keyboard is USB, since my computer doesn't have a PS/2 port.

I've checked that Windows files are ok. I've also checked the RAM and hard disk and they're ok. The one thing I haven't done is reset the BIOS ROM.

Maybe it's a hardware problem after all? It's not fun to have problems when the computer was bought in June 2010.
