Specs: Windows Vista, Intel Core 1.66GHz/1GB
I have Outlook Express on a computer with Windows XP now inoperable and want to open my account on my new computer equipped with Windows 7 in order to access my saved emails and address book. Also, I want to access any email sent in the last week. How can I perform these functions?

You will have to have some means to access the hard drive. Any number of ways may work. If the old system boots up to a live cd then you can access it that way. If not try a usb external enclosure then access from W7.

As for emails sent it would be when you connect to your email service.

download a windows email client, for win7 and set up your account details, if your old mails are still on the server you will re-recieve them, and of course your new mails. http://email.about.com/od/windowsem...

Thank you for the answer to my question about Outlook Express. This was helpful. I set up Windows Mail and received my e-mails. However, I was not able as yet to access or transfer my old saved e-mails or my address book.

If you can get the file onto your new computer, then your new email client should be able to import them. An alternative to live mail would be Mozilla Thunderbird if you want.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
