Outlook 2007 lost when upgrade to Office 2010

Specs: Windows 7
I have just upgraded my Office 2007 installation to Office 2010 H & S edition, intending to retain Outlook 2007. After the installation, however, I was dismayed to see that the installation had destroyed my Outlook 2007, including the outlook.pst file. Any suggestions?

If I remember correctly that happened to me awhile back going from Office 2000 to 2003. I feintly remember uninstally the 2003 outlook and it reverted back to the 2000 version. Other than that, I may have done a system restore back to before the 2003 installation I'm not quite sure anymore, it was so long ago.

All I can say is that now when I install a new version of M$ office I do a custom install and don't install the newest Outlook...or I save the outlook files first and then do a new installation.

Sorry, that's about all I remember and hopefully some other posters will have more input on that.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
