Out of range message on Olevia LCD monitor

March 24, 2011 at 17:02:55
Specs: Windows 7
I bought an olevia lcd computer monitor and hooked it up to computer and it worked! Well, my mistake I tried to up the resoultion and I put it at a high resoultion which ended up messing up. The monitor now says "OUT OF RANGE" and I cannot see anything other than that message so I cannot even change the resoultion back. Does anyone know how I can go back and change the setting? I can put my old monitor on but then it wont let me change anything cause it automatically detects that it is the same brand as the computer and I dont know how to change the info for the new monitor.

tap the F8 key constantly at bootup. Choose Safe mode form the menu. When in Safe Mode, change it back.

Okay I will try Safe Mode when I re-start the computer and see if that works. I may be wrong but I think I tried this and it wouldn't even let me enter safe mode and just kept restarting the computer. Thank you very much, I'll let you know =)

if safe mode fails pull the power and data cable from the laptop, boot the computer then reconnect, that should come up as a new monitor at set resolution as normal, can you see the post by the way?

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
