opening apple files in windows 7

Specs: Windows 7
i have apple 2002 files written in word, and i can't open these files on my hp windows 7. i've copied the files from the apple onto my USB, and then onto my HP. but files are not readable. is there a program i should use to decode the files and which one?

Try Openoffice ( www.openoffice.org ) I have found that it opens MAY different types of office formats and you can save as just about as many, including a number of different MS Office versions.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

are these files .doc? or .pdf? or some other format?

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
