Onscreen keyboard overriding hardware...?

January 4, 2011 at 10:16:54
Specs: Windows 7
My sister was using my computer (a Vaio E Series laptop) two nights ago when, she says, the cat stepped on the keyboard and it made some beeping sounds. Since then the keyboard keys sometimes don't work at all, sometimes type in multiples (ex: the L key types 09L). There is also a touch keyboard and a link the Ease of Access on my login screen.
I have tried restarting in regular and safe modes, turning off all Ease of Access options ( including the touch keyboard), turning on and then of Sticky keys and Toggle keys, restoring to a week earlier, reinstalling my keyboard driver....
Help!! I am at a complete loss. I have no idea what did this in the first place and I can't think of anything else to try

first of all she is probably not telling the truth.
If you have a recovery dvd, pop it in and tap f8 on bootup and select repair my computer.
If you don't have one, you can download one at this address:
