Solved old window 7 formatting problem...

Specs: Windows 7
hi yesterday i was trying to install window 7 in my laptop. but that was not booting from dvd rom.i tried alot but i failed to boot from dvd.

then i tried the other one option.

i open the window 7 dvd and there were two options 1st was repair and 2nd was install. i clicked on install button and after that window 7 cd was staring copy, files in my hard drive. but that did not delete previous window now i have in my laptop 2 windows old one and new one.

kindly teach me how to remove or formet the old window?

To boot from a CD or DVD when Windows is already installed, you should have gone into the BIOS settings and set the CD-ROM drive as the first boot device in the boot sequence. Laptop will not boot from DVD unless you do that first.

To remove the installation you no longer need, go to:
Control Panel > Admin Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management

Right-click the ribbon which represents the partition which contains the unwanted Windows, then choose "Format".

Go back to the install program and delete the partitions that contain windows and make new one to hold single new install.

Hang up and live.

both are on the same partition. partition does not need to be deleted just formatted during install if you follow phil22's advice.
