Specs: Windows Vista HP, 2.14GHZ 3 GB RAM
I have tried to "Upgrade" to windows 7 from Vista on my Toshiba laptop.
PROBLEM> There's not enough space for the temporary file needed to install...please unistall programs.
There's more than plenty of space on RAM and hardrive.....I don't get it.

Tried also to do clean install.
Problem> No drivers found to select.

All of this was done whil;e onlince as recommended by Windows 7 prompts.

Other have had smae issues as I have seen online trying to troubleshoot this.

I have even thought about trying to crash the system and start fresh....trying to save money and
not take it to someone liek "Geeksquad"

Windows 7 drivers probably don't exist for that hardware. No one thinks of that. As cheap as some laptops are, it might be better to buy new.

How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.

The first thing you need to always do even before you purchase a copy of Windows 7, is to run the Windows 7 compatibility tester on the Windows 7 site. The second thing to do is download all related drivers from the manufacturer's website (HP?) and store them on a flash drive for easy access when needed. If both of those go well, THEN you install.
NOW, if you can download drivers from the manufacturer's site that are for your hardware AND for Windows 7 (your version 32bit or 64bit), then do it as a clean install. Choose Custom and Format/Partition and format the hard drive partition (Only the windows partition, NOT the recovery partition, That may still save you if you need to return to Vista), and then proceed with your install.
If you are not compatible or you cannot get proper drivers, do a factory restore to return your machine to Vista (see online manual for details).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
