Specs: Windows 7
I rebooted my system with my Toshiba Canvio 2.0 portable hard drive... how do you enter the password when you want to do a complete system restore from F12 boot? It will not let me enter numbers, tab function will not work... I just want to enter my password and begin my system restore.

you should not need a password unless you set a password for the HDD.

try a ps2 keyboard, or set the bios to enable all hardware, if you have a usb keyboard

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

I figured out it was my keyboard that was the culprit... it did not recognize my "wireless" keyboard. I hooked up my old USB keyboard, and it worked. I plugged in my password, and it's now doing a complete system restore.

Glad you figured it out. I'd have never guessed that.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
