Norton2012 wont work&screen shuts off random, mostly at boot

January 29, 2012 at 22:12:24
Specs: Windows 7
My screen keeps shutting off at random times, mostly at boot, or when I turn on the computer to start up. And now Norton 2012, which updated yesterday, to the whole new 2012 version, will not start up and work. It only opens a blank box that says "Norton 2012" or something like that. I just tried it again to see what it says, but now it won't even show that! Has my computer been attacked by sneeky basterds, or is it a hardware problem, or what?! Its very frustrating not getting what one pays for. Because of immature retards, I assume.

1) System Restore to a previous date:

2) Download the Norton Uninstaller and totally eradicate that crap software:

3) Install the free Microsoft Security Essentials and run a scan:

I agree except that I would recommend scanning with Malwarebytes AFTER the System Restore and BEFORE removing the bloatware that they call Norton. Security Essentials is a good option as well as Avast for your protection and keeping Malwarebytes for occasional double checking (it is not a full time scanner and is fully compatible with the above) when needed. Depending on the infection you may need to be in Safe Mode to begin the System Restore.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
