Do I have to buy a router to run a Nook on my wireless wifi? I cannot find a wifi code to enter into my Nook 16GB and someone said I needed to buy a router. I did not think that was correct. Any help with this situation would be appreciated.

Yes, you need a wireless router. The wireless key is in the router's configuration settings.

The only other way to use your Nook wirelessly is by connecting it to someone else's router but you would still need to know the wireless key for that router.
