Solved no sound after windows 7 service pack 1 uploa

Specs: Windows 7
After uploading Service Pack 1 for Win7, I have no sound. I checked for updated drivers but still no sound. I am running a desktop computer. It's a Gateway sx2800.

You have High Definition Audio. That means the sound ports need to be programmed. You need to open the sound manager and set it to the way the speakers are currently connected.

Sometimes unplugging the speakers and plugging them in while the system is on will bring up the box asking you what you just plugged into that particular jack (speaker, head phone, mic, etc.) and then you are set. Then just check you speaker output volume in task bar and you are finished.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Hi, I have also come across a question posted above. After trying your advice here, I got sound on my Windows 7. Thanks. By the way, on our Windows 7, we can use a special program to record audio on desktop.
