Specs: Windows 7
Is there any way to get Scanner and Camera
Wizard on Win 7? Just upgraded from XP and
can't find this anymore... Is it gone or am I just
missing it? Thanks

FYI: Scanner & Camera Wizard is actually wiaacmgr.exe. Try to run it from the Run box and see what happens. By the way wiaacmgr stands for Windows Picture Acquisition Wizard.

Create a new shortcut and paste this information:

%systemdrive%\Windows\System32\control.exe /name Microsoft.ScannersAndCameras

OR

1.) Click the Start Orb and type Scanner
2.) Click on View Scanners and Cameras in the results. Accept any UAC warnings that may pop up.
3.) Look to see if the device you're looking for is listed on the dialog box.
4.) If you don't see the device listed, make sure the device is plugged in and connected properly then click on the Refresh button.
5.) If you still don't see the device in question, click on Add Device - this will launch the Scanner and Camera Wizard - Once again, if there's a UAC prompt, acknowledge it.

In following your instructions, I can see my camera... To be
clear, I am trying to run the Scanner and Camera Wizard -- NOT
the installation wizard. My camera is detected just fine. I am
trying to download my pictures using the S & C Wizard that I
used with XP. It seems like this program has been replaced with a far
less functional program. Are your instructions pointing me to the
S & C Wizard for what I am trying to do or to the installation
wizard? Thanks for your help!

If all you want to do is to load photos then you can rely on this program (and it's free!)

http://picasa.google.com/

It will recognise when your camera/card is connected and offer to downoad photos for you - and store them in "My Pictures."

In addition, it offers editing and slideshow facilities and will copy to CD.
