I am sure there are various tools available for you to achieve this, however i have written a program which essentially converts my private folder into a recycle bin, its not the best method but for me it works and i do not need anything more advanced than this.

Here is how you can do this:

if your folder is call 'Private' for example

rename it to Private.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

This will now become a recycle bin and everytime you double click on it, the recycle bin will appear.

to convert it back, you will need to use command prompt to rename it from

Private.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

to

Private

if you know how to write software this is very easily done, if you like i can help you with some VB code that can achieve this with one click.

Hope this helps, as i said its NOT the best method by a long stretch but it works for me so i decided to share.

Thanks,

Hi, your reply is highly apprecited, your idea is very interesting and I am going to use to experiment eventually when I believe it applicable; at this time I would like to take a different approach, I am sure you can help me, in a PC (my is a Dell window 7 and olso a W XP both lapttop) we have My Documents where I have Picts. Music and valuables docums; actually I purchased a 360 Gb. portable storage device, my intention is to estorage selected material ( some Pics. music, dvd, AND PRIVATE DOCUMENTS ) the music and Pics is ok if my family go through, here is my important folder , lets named " Craps game" it will be indeed My Private folder, and is this one that I would like that it will need a "password to be open" . Now my curios kids can go look my storish , print the Pics. use my music and be happy, while I know they will not put their nose in my private stuff, now you know what I need, take from there , I will be happy if you help me to achieve this job , for my Prestige

You also should be able to do this via Permissions. Just allow only yourself to read the folder. Then protect your Windows log in.
