Hi I've just bought an HP PC with Win7, but it has no Win 7 disk. Is it normal to have bought the PC without the disk for Win 7? And how do I create my own original disk? (Win 7 is installed ok, but one often needs the original disk).
Very few manufacturers provide copies of the OS with a new
machine - keeps the costs down. HP/Compaq have built-in
recovery software, usually a hidden partition. There will be an
option to create recovery disks somewhere in the Start menu -
look under anything related to HP."I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..."
HP has not provided a stand alone copy of Windows with their systems for years. As johnr covered they use recovery disks to rebuild the system with Windows and all the software that they install wanted or not. Richard
