no internet connection after virus removal

Specs: Windows 7, Pentium Core 13
after running AVG and removing the subsequent viruses, I can no longer connect to the internet. How do I repair this connection. Other laptops in the house are still connected. If it helps, I have an IBM Thinkpad L520

No one can tell what is going on after a virus.

I suggest you reload it from OEM disks. If you have one virus, you may also have a rootkit. You can't get rid of rootkits unless you reload and then follow some best practices.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

It will return the system to a known beginning point.

After that you can configure it as you did to the other computers.

People generally don't just get one virus. The other computers may have issues or flash drives may be infected too. Bad practices tend to cause this. You protect it by learning and using as many best practices as you can.
