No image with bbc live channels

Dell / Inspiron 560

Specs: Windows 7, 2.499 GHz / 4094 MB
I use the BBC iplayer on my computer to watch live channels and previous programs. Since they have introduced Livestart, I have no trouble watching older programs but when I try to watch live there is no image only the sound
i have looked for someone with the same problem on various forums without luck. I have sent messages to the BBC to tell tem about the problem and to find out whether I could go back to the "old" iplayer, in vain. No feedback whatsoever... I thought about uninstalling the iplayer but it's not listed in the add or remove programs although it appears on the start/all programs.
I can watch itv and channel4 live programs with no problems
Please, help!

Have you tried using a different browser (ie. Firefox instead of Internet Explorer)?

I have exactly the same problem with Firefox: the sound is fine but no image!
By the way, the speedmax.con site is in chinese or japanese so I'll keep away from it..

Try installing the latest version of Flash.

I have Windows 7 and I am using Adobe Flash Player 11,3,300,257. I had tried downloading Adobe Shockwave Player. It did not make any difference.
Now I only have Adobe Flash Player 11,3,399,257 on my computer.
I don't know whether the Plug in would make any difference..
Thank you for helping Hollowman.

I wonder if it uses a new protocol that your ISP blocks, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Do you ever have issues with video chatting services like Skype?

Hi planetearth,

My name is Rohit and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell.Regarding the issue you are facing I want to confirm which browser you are using, and I also want to confirm if you have tried any other browser like Google Chrome, If you are using internet explorer, please check whether it's IE9 or IE8 and if it's IE 9 try uninstalling IE9 and try using IE8 and check after that if you face the problem again,Looking forward for your reply.

Glad to assist you!
Thanks and regardsDell_Rohit_N
