April 7, 2010 at 09:29:42
Specs: Windows 7
Installed windows7 on my computer. The system says there is no driver for ethernet-controller. I downloaded the appropriate driver from official website foxconnsupport.com, but the archive is broken.

How am I supposed to update my driver software if I don't have an Internet connection, since I don't have a driver for ethernet-controller? Obviously, I am writing from another computer right now.

Unfortunately, this site hasn't been much help. If anyone has problems with drivers, I advise you to do the following:

1. Go to www.blitware.com and download the Driver Fetch.
2. Install and run it on required computer. It will tell you which drivers you need to update and will give links to download the exact drivers.
3. Download and install drivers. Enjoy!

Since I had no internet connection, I downloaded the file from another computer, ran it on my computer. The program gave me an option to save the info into html file, which I opened on another computer (with internet connection) and downloaded the required driver, which I was then able to install on required computer. Right now I am able to write from my computer, since the enternet-controller driver works perfectly.

Ah...right...by bad...

My suggestion should work for ANY device(s) except for the ethernet controller.

BTW, I don`t recommend third-party software so as to update drivers. It`s best to install/update drivers from the manufacurers web-site. Also, I am not sure that the drivers from foxconnchannel.com are corrupted, but who knows...

Dear probfixer,

Thank you very much for your prompt replies. I will try not to use third-party software anymore, but this was a case of emergency =)

Anyways, thank you and computing.net for always supporting in hard times!
