Specs: windows 7 Ultimate, Gigabite 2 GB Ram
Earlier I had Windows 7 ultimate 32bit installed in my PC with external Hard disk . I encrypted one of the folder using windows inbuilt software. Today i re-installed my pc with windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. I am unable to access that encrypted folder from my external drive. I tried to takeover the rights of folder. but still i am unable. I can only see that files ( which are in green color) are present in that encrypted folder but cant access, copy or move it to my fixed drive..
Can anyone please help me out so as to how can i get my folder back. is deencrption a way for it.
Thanks in advance.

Most data recovery programs will break down the encryption, and get the files/folder back.

I use more professional stuff, but PC Inspector may do it.

If you used MS encryption, then I think you are screwed. I know of no person on earth that can hack into that yet. I assume that major countries could but no single person has that much computational power.

Unless you created a backup of the entire system with system state using the built in backup software and re-applied it there is no way to recreate the conditions that are needed to get access.

A Pit Bull is like a gun you can pet. And there is no safety on it.

Hopper Thanks ..

Sorry to say.. it didnt worked out. I downloaded and installed PC inspecter, but it tried to extract the same files which i could not access.

It is more of recovery than decryption.. I believe recovery with decryption would work.

Can you please suggest me any other software..

Thanks again
