Nexus file-handler turned W7 icons to winrar

Microsoft Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit
February 27, 2010 at 14:09:14
Specs: Windows 7
I was gonna archive a couple of files in nexus file-handler and all of a sudden all my icons turned into winrar icons.
no programs worked or anything.
thought it might have been a winrar problem or nexus one so i un-nstalled them but still same problem.
i did not have a system restore point so i can't get it back that way.
it seems windows have forgotten how to open everything on my computer.

Does not work.. because windows doesn't recognize how it should open such a file.
I think the others would have had the same result.

In the end I found that creating a new user account made all my programs work again.. but only for that account.
So I copied over all information I had on my first user account to a third, deleted the first, renamed the third and deleted the second.

The problem with doing this is that although all files and stuff got copied over.. none of the bookmarks or settings did.. I have no idea why.. maybe someone else can explain that.

So yeah.. I've been on the net for the last 2h trying to remember all my bookmarks.. I'm up to about 50% I think and it's starting to go slow.. :P

Even though your links did not help this problem I thank you for your reply and trying to help me Sabertooth :)

Good deal, although, the registry fix one should have worked, I guess it doesn't matter now since you already deleted that profile.

hey Sabertooth, the same thing happened to me, but in my case, all the exe files turned into fifa files and when i double clicked them, fifa opened. I used the regedit file that you sugested and it worked!!! Thank you very much dude!
