New W7 PC won't recognize ntbackup BKF files

October 24, 2011 at 15:53:51
Specs: Windows XP
I have a Dell with Windows XP Home and have been using a WD external hard drive to back up my chiropractic software.
I had to buy a new PC with Windows 7 Pro, upgrade the office software and import the backup data. The new machine will not open up a BKF file.
How do I change the extension BKF on the old machine to BKA for the new machine?

MS finally offered a way to put ntbackup on windows 7. By default windows 7 uses a very different format. It actually creates a virtual machine image.
Search for web pages at microsoft on how to install ntbackup on it.
