new user accounts that I didn't create

January 12, 2014 at 05:40:15
Specs: Windows 7
for the past three mornings, when I start up my computer, there is an extra user account. I have my own, admin, and then this new one. I asked my family if anyone used my laptop and no one has. Today is the third day in a row that I have a new user account on my laptop. The names of the user account are always the same, just a bunch of random letters, but always the same ones. GLCMYPHDUDOP. I haven't made any setting changes lately nor have I downloaded anything new.

Is your WiFi secure? In other words, can someone use your wireless network without a password?

Anyone within range of your network can use it if you don't have it secured.

As administrator, have you removed that account?

Use your admin account to remove these new accounts.
Make sure that your passwords are secure, not too easily guessed, and change them anyway.
Run Malwarebytes in Safe Mode to be sure that malware is not causing this to happen. Remove all it finds.
Unless you use it, turn off remote access to your system to be sure no one from outside is accessing your system.
Use sleep when you are going to be away from the computer for a while, but shut it down when you leave it, take it along, or go to sleep.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
