nero burnrights prevents me from burning a CD

Specs: Windows 7
transferred my Nero 5.5.9 burner to my new Windows 7 computer and it won't let me burn CDs. The message about needing administrator's permission does not seem to be the problem.

I succeeded in installing burnrights, but it will not remain on the required administrator setting. Microsoft's message was that Nero 5.5 is not compatible with Windows 7. I checked with Nero and they said that, "sadly" (their choice of words, not mine), anything older than 9 is not compatible I bought Nero 10 today. Fortunately it was on sale this weekend for $49.

sorry to say you got ripped off, I even use progs from win 98se on my Windows 7 in compatibility mode. You obviously didn't try it.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Changing the compatability setting under properties was one of the first things I tried. It didn't work because it does not allow me to change the administrator privileges. It appears to be changed but goes back to the previous setting when I try to use Nero.
